The Tucci Table...(CookBook Review)

Posted on December 8, 2014 at 5:00 PM

I was gifted a copy of “The Tucci Table: Cooking with Family and Friends” by Stanley Tucci by Gallery Books.

There is only one word I can use to describe this cookbook… And that word is…Wow!

This is the kind of the cookbook that you have to just sit down in your comfy chair and read cover to cover before you take it to the kitchen.

I’ve reviewed many amazing cookbooks this year but this cookbook is hands down the most...Unforgettable! Filled with amazing stories, recipes, and photographs…this cookbook is definitely every food lover’s dream and ultimate food fantasy.

The food photography in this cookbook is absolutely…Amazing! The ultimate food porn, each photograph had me leaping out of my chair and running to the kitchen to cook.

I felt so honored and touch to read the pages of this cookbook, it was like attending a family reunion. I truly felt like I was sitting at the Tucci Table with his family and friends.

The way Stanley Tucci pays homage to his past and his present is truly admirable. I love the fact that Stanley Tucci re-created his late wife’s recipes…The Tucci family favorites…with his new wife Felicity Blunt. This cookbook is more than just cooking in the kitchen.. it’s about telling his story…a story about love, family, and tradition.

Of course a cookbook review is not a review without a little kitchen testing. And let me tell you…kitchen testing this cookbook was extremely difficult with all the amazing recipes.

This is another cookbook that we will have to cook our way through together for the upcoming New Year. So what were the winning recipes?

Well on Sunday...“Roasted Potato Salad,” “Grilled Cheese with Pesto and Prosciutto,” and “Asparagus with Lemon Butter” and I have to tell you I was happy with the results. My friends and I still can’t stop talking about the Asparagus with the Lemon Butter…absolutely Amazing!

And on Monday my neighbor hosted a Christmas Party and I made the "Seafood Paella" recipe, I doubled the recipe to served 24 guests family style...I never knew that they made Paella pans that large. The Seafood Paella was...delicious!

This cookbook is a definitely A Must Have…A Must Read…And definitely should be on your Christmas Wish List this year. What I really enjoyed about this cookbook was the diversity of recipes. There are simple to follow recipes for that new cook, and amazing simple to follow recipes for that more seasoned cooked. Whether you are a new cook… or a seasoned cook… you will get 5 star restaurant quality results that will make an impression on the pickiest mother-in-law this holiday season.

The Tucci Table: Cooking with Family and Friends by Stanley Tucci made its debut on October 28, 2014…so run…not walk…and make this cookbook part of your holiday this season.
