My Life As A Wine...SNOb (Dornfelder Wine Review)

Posted on September 15, 2014 at 6:05 AM

Pssst...Can you keep a secret? Well...My name is Nerisa and I use to be a ...a wine snob. I know, I know, I know...I'm so ashamed...but it's true. If it didn't have a cork in it or least more than $30...well it just wasn't worth drinking. Every wine had its glass...believe me I had so much stemware that I could probably build the Eifel Tower out of glass and still have extra left over.

However, when you have been diagnosed with the BIG "C" your life change...first your health, then the health of your bank account, now don't get me wrong I still appreciate a good bottle of French Wine that cost more than a good spa day...But...Yes...there is a but...expensive wine does not mean good wine.

First...Let's start with the became easier when these little babies where invented...ok...big babies where invented. Red Wine, White Wine, Chocolate Wine...who all works when you have this wine glass.
Now thanks to supermarkets, grocery stores, food emporiums...whatever floats your boat...adding liquor and spirit departments to their grocery for groceries has definitely become a little bit more exciting. Not only has it become exciting, it has become educational with wines to fit every budget. Do you have a Wegmans store near you...well they have not only added a Liquor and Spirits Department...they made it into a whole separate store here in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
Now my first reaction, I'm not buying wine from a Supermarket...period. However one day I was invited for pizza and wine over a friend's house. Now I love wine and I am definitely a lover of pizza...well this sounds like a party to me. So the menu...well an Extra Large Steak and Sautéed onion cheese pizza that would make you want to slap your mamma delicious! Now the wine, a semi sweet, fruity red, this wine was... delicious! Like I wanted to bathe in it...delicious....immediately I inquired about the name and the location where I can find this yummy nectar of the Gods.

Imagine my surprise when I learned that this bottle of wine was $8.99 at my local supermarket liquor store... Wegmans. So the moral of the story...My name is Nerisa...and I use to be a wine snob....

Now About the Wine

{Characteristics} full-bodied, slightly floral, plums, dark cherry and blackberry...delicious!

{Regions where the grape is currently important} Germany, particularly Pfalz and Rheinhessen.

{Verdict} #musthave #delicious

~xoxo Sincerely Yours, Nerisa :)
