I was gifted a cookbook by Andrew McMeel Publishing “Vegan without Borders” by Robin Roberts.
At first… I have to admit… I really didn’t know what to expect. After all if you read one Vegan Cook Book…you practically read them all. Oh…My.... was I wrong…
This is no average vegan cookbook… this is a passport to culinary heaven. This cook book is your tour guide to countries around the world, leading you to vegan heaven, as your palate has one love affair after another. Accompanied by mouthwatering photographs that will inspire you to pack your suitcase and run to the airport, this cookbook is definitely a feast for the eyes, as well as your palate.
Trust me… this is not just your average summer love affair. This cookbook explains how to create classic dishes in your Vegan Kitchen without losing the authenticity of the dish. Dishes like Mac and Cheese made the vegan way, called “Butternut Mac and Cheese” and guess what…No cheese. There’s also a vegan version of the beloved shepherd’s pie, called “Cottage Pie”.
This book will definitely make going to the farmer’s market the highlight of your day. I decided to make the “Greek Spinach and Rice”, the ingredients were simple and everything was right here in my kitchen...and it was...delicious! I also made the oven baked “Egg Plant Fries”, I just can’t resist fries and I was not disappointed. I absolutely love this cook book and I think it would make a great addition to any cook’s kitchen, vegan and non vegan...there is absolutely something for everyone.
The published date for this cookbook is September 9, 2014 and I suggest you run, not walk, to your nearest bookstore and purchase “Vegan without Borders.” The recipes are easy to follow, creative, and the best thing about these recipes…. they are not time consuming and they are delicious, as well as, impressive. Vegan without Borders is as exotic... and as beautiful... and as satisfying... as the pomegranate on the cover of this cook book.
